I've been a primary school teacher since 2004 and from the early days always enjoyed making up aerobics routines to do with my class. It was a love of mine, but never something I thought I'd be able to do for real!
Fast forward to 2015 and I found myself in the all-consuming position of Acting Headteacher. I threw myself into it with amazing support from my lovely colleagues, but it wasn't a path for me.
I had already decided that I wanted to focus on learning more about fitness and wellness and so, as soon as I was able to, I stepped away from school leadership, went back in the classroom, and started my training...
As a freelance fitness instructor, I have trained in:
Exercise to Music Level 2
As a wellbeing therapist, I am also trained in Emotional Freedom Technique Level 1 & 2 and I am an NLP Practitioner.
Prior to COVID, I was seeing private clients and holding workshops in which I combined a variety of clinically-proven complementary therapies to remove emotional blocks, restore emotional freedom and balance, and break unhelpful thought patterns.
Although technology enabled us to provide fitness classes and wellbeing content online during lockdown, nothing quite beats the buzz of real, live fitness classes, or being able to work with wellness clients face to face or do a guided meditation with a room full of people.
I'm so grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with good friends and deliver fun, high-energy classes that hugely benefit our physical and mental health. I'm so looking forward to being able to bring my wellbeing work to the studio in the Autumn as well so look out for workshops coming soon!
